KUZNETSOVA CRUISES!
She played brilliantly during the fortnight winning matches with ease 6.0,6-2 in the 3rd and 6-2, 6-1, in quarters so the physical edge went to Safina. But cleary that did her no good Kuznetova started off slow when she dropped her serve in the first game of the the first set. but she quicly turned the tables breaking right back. From there she cruised she used her big forehand and her massive topspin. This tactic left Safina pushed behind the baseline she was running side to side all what Kuznetsova kept doing was dropshoting her, she must have done this play 15 times in the final.
Safina may be the number one player because she can win tournamnets consistantly but if you cant handle your nerves when a grand slam is up for grabs, then you do not deserve to be the player that everyone is gunning for. The final score in the match was 6-4, 6-2, in just 75minutes. After the match Safina was very disgraceful she said how she beat herself outhere she didnt show no courtesy to her opponet and in the tennis world they look down on your for saying stuff like that, so she needs to shape -up or get out like her brother Marat Safin whis retiting this year.
ROGER NEW KING OF CLAY!
In the final Roger beat a surprise opponet Robert Soderling this was the same guy who dismantled Rafael Nadal in the 3rd round, so people were expectin a highly contested final but unfortunatley it didnt happend. Soderling crumbled under pressure and did play his game. He was playing way to defensive and not blasting his forehand. Which ulitmatley led to score of 6-1, 7-6(1), 6-4.
When asked during his press confrence where does he rank this trophy among his other slams he said,"It's maybe my greatest victory," said the tennis ace, who's soon to become a dad for the first time with wife Mirka. "I think that now and until the end of my career, I can really play with my mind at peace, and no longer hear that I've never won Roland Garros."
Well now that the clay season is over you can expect Federer to dominate the grass for the pass 6 years he has made it to the final, and has won 6 of those appearances. Im sure fans will love to see another rematch of between Nadal and Federer an epic matxh that was tagged the all time best tennis match ever. Hopefully Nadal ca recoer from his devasting lost here at the french and rebound in time for the grass.

UP & DOWN
6-7, 5-7, 6-4, 6-0, 6-2. It seemed as if there was another upset in the making, the first two sets both players were playing extremley well, it just that Haas was playing hte big points better and putting alot of pressure on Federers forehand which was breaking down. But somehow Roger kicked it up a notch and showed us why he is a 13 time grand slam champion. He showed patience and accuaracy in shots timing them perfectly leaving Haas playing defensivley. From their he never looked back bageling him 6-0 in the fourth he knew he had no chance.
Andy Roodick on thr other hand could not muster up his champion spirit in order to survive another day on caly. He lost a frenchmen Gael Monfilis 4-6 ,2-6, 3-6. Roddick exceeded his own expectations by reaching the second week, this wasa feet he was never able to accomplish losing at the thirs round for the past 4 years. HIs opponet is a natural born clay player so it was unlikey for andy to pull the upset. Monflis showed how athletic he is with his diving shots, stab volleys, and and occasional splits, drawing oohs, and ahhs from the crowd. His next round opponet _________ is the man who took Nadal, Robert Soderling so im expecting that to go distance.
On the women side Sharapova Lost with an uninspiring 6-2, 6-0 scoreline. She did better then i expected making it to the second week of a major, after not playing on tour for a 9 month absence. I expect big things for her going into Wimbledon being that she did win the title back in 04.
Stay tuned for daily results and gossip about your fav players!!!!!!

DEFENDING CHAMPS OUT!
This is definatley Roger Federers French OPen to lose. He has been to the final the past 2 years and with his draw he is likely for his third consecutive final. But this time who will be on the other side of the net? With the way he has playing in his last couple of matches he looks like the one to beat, but this is Roger of new, the one who has been losing matches consistantly, the only title he won this year, was just two weeks ago in Rome. He one or two darkhorses left in his draw that can cause him some serious problems. like his next round match up against a former top 5 player Tommy Haas.
But before we talk about that lets rewind this back to Rafa. (S I G H ) I really wanted him to win this year, but it seems that all my favorites are gone (Venus Williams). I was actaully watching the match on Television. This was the first time i ever saw Nadal look clueless on clay, he actaully get beat from the baseline on his best surface. I give Soderling all the credit in the world for pulling off such an upset, He blasted forehands, hit incrediably fast serves, and forced Nadal to play defense from 4-5 feet behind the baseline. This win is going to give Soderling a big boost in the rest of the tournament.
As for Ana Ivanovic her lost was expected she hasnt had good results since she won this title last year. She lost to Azarenka 6-2, 6-3. Her confidence in her game has really bewildered she better hope she can regain her edge mentally or she may just be a one hit wonder champion.

The DRAW Is Revealed.
there are alot of questions that will be answered in the next two weeks. Can Roger finally prevail clay? Can Nadal keep up his winninng streak on clay 146-5 loses. Will Andy Murray, and Novak Djokovic live up to the dark horse reputation or just crumble under pressure? Can the Americans live up to the past Champions of the game and bring home another title? Will Maria Sharapova be ready to play competitve tennis again after a 9 month injury from the game? Can the reigining French Open champion Ana Ivanovic perform well enough to recapture the title? and these questions will be answered.

Whos The Real Number 1?
Dinara Safina is officially the new number one female tennis player in the world. But in Serena Williams mind she is and will forever be the number one ranked player.
when playing a tournament in Rome a reporter asked her how does she feel losing the top spot and she said, " We all Know who the real number one is." Know im a BIG Serena Williams fan but when you walk with too much pride on your shoulders you come off as being arrogant.
Now one would expect after a comment like that, that she would be going off on a tangent winning matches from left to right but it has been the conmplete opposite. she has been eliminated twice in the first round of Rome and Madrid while on the other hand Dinara Safina has won both those touranments.
Now the reason for this may be becasue of her bummed knee that has been bothering since the Sony Ericcson Open, or maybe she is just to busy advertising her new clothing and jewlery on HSN for the past two weeks you decide. But being that the French Open is right around the corner ill expect her to bring her A game. Especially since she is the "real number one player in te world. BUt her road to victory aint going to be no Crystal Stair she will have to go through the number 3 player in the world her sister Venus and of course those pesky Euopean players.

Can The U.S Finally Rise In Paris?
The French open is right around the corner. And both the top men and women are scheduled to play. The 2.2 million dollar event is one of tennis most lucrative tournament, unfortunately this too is a place where U.S falls quickly and I am not talking about on the clay. The last American to win the trophy was Serena Williams way back in 2002, and since then no American has ever reached the semifinals. Why is that you ask?
My theory about Americans and clay is that they just don’t mix. Americans are brought up playing tennis on fast hard courts for most of their tennis life. So for them to transition their games to a slow clay court must be a challenge. Take for instance Andy Roddick on the fast courts at the U.S Open his game suits that court perfectly hard flat serve, and penetrating ground strokes this leaves him in control of the points. but on the slow courts in Paris his game is the complete opposite. his opponents can get each of his balls back in play, and leave him on the defensive end. Plus your movement on the clay is crucial is your feet work is not precise then your opponent will take advantage of you and move you from side to side. With that said the Americans may still have a chance if they play to their strenghts.
May_ - 09 June _ -09 is the first day of the French Open and the top American players are all rostered to play. # 2 in the world Serena Williams her sister #5 Venus Williams, #6 Andy Roddick and # 16 James Blake these players must remember to play their games in order to succeed. they are only hope for a win do us proud!
